Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality youth sports programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Facilitates program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
2. Assists with setting up equipment for games and practices.
3. Ensures that character development programming into practices/games and acts as a ‘professional role model’.
4. Adheres to team practice plans and game schedules, follows sport specific rules, guidelines, and employee handbook.
5. Shows up in an approved uniform and represents the YMCA in a professional manner at all times.
6. Supports the promotion of healthy eating and good nutrition.
7. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with participant families.
8. Is able to share impact stories to support fundraising efforts.
9. Responds to all member and community inquiries and feedback in timely manner.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Formal experience/certification in related field or equivalent.
2. Minimum age of 15.
3. Requirements within 90 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention; Sports Safety Training; US Soccer Grassroots Coach training
